St. Michaels Pedestrian Network

The Latest News & Events:

May 1, 2012: After a series of site visits and small community meetings, two classes from Temple University’s School of Art have been studying the small waterside town of St. Michaels. A landscape architecture seminar class has been specifically focusing on the pedestrian experience within this cultural landscape. They are exploring water access both physically and visually, the natural ecology of the land and water, as well as the community culture and historic character. A separate architecture studio class has been studying the built vernacular of this historic waterside town to influence the site planning process, as well as recommendations for architectural designs of a proposed community fitness center. Coming soon, the students from both classes will present their analyses and design ideas at the St. Michaels branch of the Talbot County Free Library. All community members are invited to attend and provide feedback for the students’ work.

Stay tuned for updates concerning this community project and ways you canĀ get involved.
